BMW is world-renowned as one of the most respected and high quality brands on the market, and as we enter 2017, we thought we’d have a look back on how successful BMW has been in 2016.
And it has been a bumper crop of awards for BMW once again.
The brand has won more than 50 national and international awards and accolades over the last 12 months, and the awards were given for all sorts of differing attributes that help to make up the reliable and highly lauded brand.
With BMW winning awards in fields such as technological advancements, product quality, sustainability and design, it shows just how good BMW has been in 2016 across all sectors.
Leading the way was the 7 Series, which won 12 awards over the last year, including ‘World Luxury Car’ at the World Car Awards and ‘Best Car’ in the Luxury Performance segment of the Auto Motor und Sport awards.
The ‘i’ series was also very successful, with the i8 and i3 winning five awards between them, including the ‘Golden Steering Wheel’ for the i3 in the Alternative Drives category and the International Engine of the Year in the 1.4-1.8-litre category for the i8.
Other big winners included the new M2, which won ‘Car of the Year’ in the Japanese Car of the Year awards as well as four other awards in its first full year on sale.
After such a good 2016, BMW hopes this excellent year will continue into 2017 and help maintain its superb status at the top of the motoring tree.
