BVRLA FleetBMW Has Signed Up As One Of The Headline Sponsors For The British Vehicle Rental And Leasing Association's (BVRLA) First-ever Fleet Technology Congress.

Expecting a high first-time attendance, the BVRLA's Fleet Technology Congress will explore the latest trends in connected vehicles, telematics, 'Big Data' and intelligent mobility services.

BMW is a stand-out and key partner for the BVRLA as a leading provider of technology-based mobility services, thanks to its ConnectedDrive infotainment systems.

The German car manufacturer has also been a seasoned winner of the 'Fleet Manufacturer of the Year' awards, making it a desirable peer partner.

As a luxury car manufacturer BMW offers a comprehensive suite of technologies across its model range, which provide drivers with comfort, safety and entertainment features.

Advanced driver assistance systems from BMW include head-up displays and telematics services which provide traffic information and an automatic emergency call system.

Delighted on their partnership with BVRLA Fleet Technology Congress, BMW's General Manager of Corporate Sales, Matt Bristow, said: "In order to remain industry-leading for our fleet customers, we continue to invest in our model range, and this Congress is an ideal opportunity to showcase the latest in technology across both BMW and MINI."

Technology and its innovations are key to fleets and will help to revolutionise the way they are managed as vehicle connectivity helps to increase performance and drive down costs.

The Fleet Technology Congress event itself will outline to their attendees, how exactly technology trends affect the automotive world, with a particular emphasis on how they are shaping fleet management and operation.

Examples of topics that will be covered are the impact on fleets due to things like BMW e-call, black-box insurance, smartphone apps in cars and the data generated by connected vehicles.

The inaugural Fleet Technology Congress is to take place at the Heritage Motor Centre on 1 July this year.
