Easter Sunday is the big day for Colin Turkington and his BMW 125i M Sport because together they hope to make a formidable team and take the first steps towards claiming the British Touring Car Championship crown.Turkington is a well known racing driver and has paired up with a variety of BMWs over the years to further his status in the racing fraternity. In 2009 he was the British Touring Car Champion, after that he competed in the World Touring Car Championship as well as the Scandinavian Championship – with BMW backing him all the way.
This year Colin has returned as eBay Motors with the incredibly impressive BMW 125i M Sport, a powerhouse from the current 1-series line up.
The BMW 125i M Sport is capable of 0-62mph in 6.5 second and as much as 4800rpm with 228lb ft of torque. BMW enthusiasts who want to purchase a car similar to the one that Turkington will be driving can choose between a 6 speed manual option or an 8 speed automatic gearbox that has a reputation for being rather impressive.
Despite its place being firmly in sports class, the BMW 125i M Sport also manages to step up to the mark on fuel consumption achieving 44.1mpg and 42.8mpg respectively.
Turkington certainly feels that the car has what it takes to win the title, after a recent test at Brand’s Hatch he was quoted as saying "I’m itching to get back on the grid and feel confident the eBay Motors team will be serious contenders for the championship with the BMW 125i."
