CONCEPTS BECOME REALITY.

The spectacular BMW i8 Concept, the car that's based on the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept car that 'starred' in ‘Mission:Impossible – Ghost Protocol’, is the most progressive and innovative sports car of its time: dynamic proportions, upward swinging doors, large transparent cabin and truly remarkable performance. Its plug-in hybrid design combines the modified electric drive system from the BMW i3 Concept with a high-performance three-cylinder combustion engine.expected 104mpg (EU cycle) with only 66g/km CO2 emissions.

The BMW i3, the purely electric four-seat city car previously known as the Megacity Vehicle has been purpose-built to meet the demands of sustainable emission-free urban commuting. The design has an upright stance to provide the driver and three passengers with excellent all-round visibility and 200 litres of luggage space. The i3 will be on sale in the UK from late 2013 and will be available with an optional petrol range-extender. This small petrol engine drives a generator which maintains the battery charge level and so can significantly extend its everyday range of 80-100 miles.
