Historically, the BMW 3 Series has been renowned for its best-in-class handling and driving dynamics. More recently, the introduction of BMW EfficientDynamics technologies has lent the multi award-winning 3 Series the lowest fuel-consumption and CO2 emissions in its class, while further improving the already class-leading performance. Alongside comprehensive styling revisions and an unrivalled range of innovative options, the new BMW 3 Series leaves the competition even further behind.
The exterior design shows how BMW has evolved the established 3 Series features, creating a bolder, more dynamic look with cleaner, stronger lines. Distinctive new headlights feature daytime running lights and LED indicators, while the fog lights, kidney grilles and front bumper are given a more prominent stance that befits the powerful engines behind. The rear of the new 3 Series is equally impressive. Comprehensively revised light clusters feature LED light bars that lend the car an unmistakable quality at night, while the wider rear track and horizontal crease on the rear bumper reflect the car’s sporting intentions.
Performance and fuel economy are still class-leading throughout the 3 Series range. The 177 hp 320d Saloon, for example, accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 7.9 seconds, yet still returns 58.9 mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of just 128g/km. Even the thunderous 335i, with its multi award-winning 306 hp twin-turbo 3.0-litre powerplant, achieves 31.0 mpg and 218 g/km CO2, and powers to 62 mph in just 5.6 seconds.
