With its elegant styling and low shoulder line, the 1 Series Convertible is a stunning-looking car and, with the roof down, rewards you with uninhibited 360-degree views. Unlike many convertibles, the BMW 1 Series Convertible’s soft-top has been designed to start opening at speeds of up to 25mph, continuing to operate at up to 31mph. Once open the soft-top is stowed in a concealed compartment, folding fully flat with the boot lid. This gives the car its elegant side profile while occupying minimal boot space.
The BMW 1 Series Convertible is available in five engine variants – 120d, 118i, 120i, 125i and 135i which, with its 306hp twin-turbo powerplant, reaches 62mph in just 5.6 seconds. Each model features BMW EfficientDynamics technologies as standard: these work together to enhance performance and increase driving pleasure while reducing fuel consumption and emission levels.
BMW’s hallmark rear-wheel drive chassis, unique in this class, ensures the car’s handling is dynamic and responsive. The range of equipment offered is equally unrivalled in this category. Upholstery with SunReflective Leather Technology stays up to 20 degrees cooler on sunny days. For extra comfort the Automatic Climate Control switches to Convertible Mode when the roof is down, regulating the temperature according to the sun’s intensity and even driving speed. A USB interface, allowing you to control your MP3 player via steering wheel-mounted multi-function controls, is also available. Finally, the 1 Series Convertible has the very best in safety technology, including automatic roll bars and a reinforced A-pillar.
